PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE
OVERALL – In total, B.R.E. contributions to our local community amount to over $20,000 each year.
SCHOLARSHIPS – Each year, we provide a couple of graduating seniors in Purcellville’s High Schools with college scholarship assistance.
CHANGE JARS – Each year, the amount that accumulates in the club’s change jars approaches $2000, which is used to cover small, emergent charity needs.
FOOD HELP – Around holidays, food is collected and taken to a local food pantry; grocery store gift cards are provided to needy families.
ROUGH TIMES ASSISTANCE – When appropriate, B.R.E. gives short-term help to members and others who encounter unforeseen tough “gap” circumstances in the immediate aftermath of sudden medical or accident misfortunes.
LOCALLY-BASED SPECIALTY CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS – B.R.E. donates each year to specialty charity organizations that provide for critical needs in our area. In early 2019, B.R.E. has distributed $10,000 among:
– Loudoun Therapeutic Riding, a charitable nonprofit organization which empowers and improves the lives of people with cognitive, physical and psychological disabilities, through the benefits of equine-assisted activities.
– Tree of Life, a charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to changing lives and meeting the needs an individual or family may have – involving food, life-skills, shelter, healthcare, and relief.
– Good Shepherd Alliance, a charitable nonprofit organization providing help and hope for the homeless and those in need in Loudoun through emergency and transitional housing and outreach services leading to self-sufficiency and self-worth.
– Ability Fitness Center of Leesburg, a charitable nonprofit organization which supports those individuals in our community whose lives have been devastated as a result of paralysis and other physical disabilities. It is a therapeutic fitness and wellness center that provides access to innovative, customized, and activity-based therapy, making it possible to strive for improvement in condition and, most essentially, have the opportunity to live long and healthy lives.
